Floor

The floor is covered in stone flags, the reason that it feels uneven. The red carpet was fitted throughout the church during and after the 1986 refurbishment.

In the "Church and Parish of Deane" by John Partington (1899) we are told that due to the large number of graves within the church, the floor was so uneven that it was concreted - more detail will be added when the book has been transcribed. It would therefore be reasonable to assume that stone flags have been laid on the concrete.
