Choir stalls

In the heyday, the stalls were filled by men and boys, the boys sitting in the front rows. Even in the mid 1960s, there was a waiting list to join the choir although by that time there were many ladies also. By the 1990s the number of choristers had fallen, the choice of music diversifying to cater for a new generation.
